The Ministry of Railways has launched a new SuperApp, ‘SwaRail,’ to bring all Indian Railways services under one unified platform. This initiative aims to streamline train-related services for millions of passengers who currently rely on multiple apps for various railway needs. The Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) has developed the app to enhance the convenience of train travelers by consolidating all essential features into a single, easy-to-use platform.
With SwaRail, users will no longer need to juggle multiple apps for ticket bookings, train status checks, complaints, or parcel bookings. Instead, they can access all Indian Railways-related services from one application.
Key Features of the Railway SuperApp
The SwaRail SuperApp integrates several services that were previously scattered across multiple platforms. This includes:
Booking Reserved and Unreserved Train Tickets – Travelers can book tickets for reserved seats in long-distance trains and purchase unreserved and platform tickets for local or suburban travel.
Parcel and Freight Management – The app allows users to inquire about and manage parcel bookings, freight movement, and logistics services offered by Indian Railways.
Train and PNR Status Enquiries – Passengers can check real-time train schedules, live train tracking, PNR status, and seat availability directly from the app.
On-Board Food Ordering – The app integrates with Indian Railways’ catering services, enabling passengers to order food online for their journey.
Rail Madad for Complaint Management – Users can raise complaints, report issues, or seek assistance through the integrated Rail Madad platform within the app.

Beyond core railway services, the SwaRail SuperApp also introduces new functionalities to enhance user experience:
Single Sign-On (SSO): Travelers no longer need separate logins for different railway apps. With one set of credentials, users can access all Indian Railways services, including IRCTC RailConnect, UTS Mobile App, and other railway platforms.
All-in-One Railway App: Instead of switching between multiple apps for ticket bookings, train status, or freight services, passengers can now access everything in one place, simplifying their travel experience.
Easy Onboarding and Sign-Up: Users can log in using their existing credentials from IRCTC RailConnect or the UTS Mobile App. For new users, registration has been simplified to require minimal data entry, making the app more accessible. Once signed in, travelers can opt for m-PIN or biometric authentication for added security and convenience.
How to Download the SwaRail SuperApp
The SwaRail SuperApp is currently available for beta testing on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. However, due to high demand, the beta testing slots are already full.
Once the public rollout is completed, the app will be made available for all users. Indian Railways will officially launch SwaRail in the coming weeks, ensuring seamless access to railway services for passengers across the country.
When the app is officially released, users will be able to:
- Download it from the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS)
- Log in using their existing RailConnect or UTS Mobile App credentials
- New users can sign up with minimal information and start booking train services immediately
