Adani Wilmar Ltd, a leading edible oil producer, has inaugurated its state-of-the-art food processing plant in Sonepat, Haryana. Built with an investment of ₹1,300 crore, this facility is positioned as one of the most advanced food complexes in the country.
According to a regulatory announcement, the integrated food processing plant, located in Gohana, Sonepat district, was financed from the proceeds of Adani Wilmar’s IPO. “This landmark project was established with a capital outlay of ₹1,298 crore, showcasing our commitment to enhancing food production infrastructure,” the company stated.
Key Highlights of the Facility
- Size and Capacity: Spanning 85 acres, the plant boasts an impressive annual production capacity of 6.27 lakh tonnes.
- Product Portfolio: The facility will produce 4,50,000 tonnes of food products, including rice, wheat flour, maida, rawa, and suji. It will also manufacture 2 lakh tonnes of edible oils, such as mustard oil, rice bran oil, and cottonseed oil.
- Animal Feed: The plant is set to contribute to the production of Mustard DOC and Ricebran DOC, essential ingredients for animal feed.
- Employment Generation: The project is expected to create approximately 2,000 direct and indirect job opportunities in Haryana.
This initiative underscores Adani Wilmar’s dedication to supporting India’s growing demand for high-quality food products and edible oils while also contributing to rural employment.
Recent Developments
In a significant move last month, the Adani Group announced its exit from Adani Wilmar. Despite this transition, Adani Wilmar continues to strengthen its portfolio, producing popular Fortune brand cooking oils, wheat flour, and a range of other food products.
This new facility in Sonepat reinforces the company’s leadership in the food processing sector, setting a benchmark for future projects in India.
